In 1989, I founded Siriusware, Inc., a software company that built solutions for ski areas, amusement parks, water parks, cultural venues and other attractions. The focus was on ticketing, but the solution eventually expanded to cover most aspects of managing these businesses. I built the company with the help of an amazing group of people who helped create an equally amazing culture that transcended the organization.
Siriusware was a virtual company with over 90% of the staff working remotely, either from very small offices or from their homes. It was a business that prioritized maintaining a healthy work/life balance. We established this in the age of dial-up and evolved it further using the amazing tools and services that have since evolved to support this type of company.
In 2013 we were acquired by another ticketing company. I continued to run the group for the new parent. As that company evolved, I moved into the role of Chief Information Officer and learned about cyber security, compliance, privacy and the intricacies of managing a much larger infrastructure. As I write this, we are all in the middle of the COVID-19 outbreak and I am very happy to say that my former company was prepared to switch to a remote workforce with virtually no interruption.
In truth, my passion has always been the people. It didn't matter what we did to make money as long as we were doing it together. We were a family, and in retrospect I see how rare that is in business and how much I miss it!
I'm hoping that I can take some of the knowledge I've gained over the last 30+ years and help other businesses realize their vision of success. Whether you want help building a scale-able software solution or a unique and special organization, I can help.
